We are a global leader looking for a Senior Site Manager, Logistics and Distribution (Cold Chain) to join our Cold Chain Logistics Product team. You'll have full responsibility for a stand-alone cold storage site delivering excellent experience to our customers.
This role will have supervisory responsibilities for supervisors, office staff and associates.

Purpose of the role:
We're looking for a professional to join us as Site Manager with a strong background in Cold Chain/Cold Storage. Acting as General Manager, you'll be fully accountable for P&L and operations of the cold chain products for the site having business development and operational ownership. Operational management supporting and enabling the Maersk cold chain product families and value proposition to our clients being either stand alone or part of a global supply chain solution.
This position is based in Cape Town and not available at any other locations.
Key responsibilities:
Profit & Loss
P&L responsible for the site. Covering all products and clients offered at this site
New and existing customer management
Contract management
Site performance (cost/utilization)
Continuous improvement & optimization of assets
Investment proposals and follow up on the same
Product
Execution of CCL strategy for site in alignment with Area CCL Head
Business development aligned with strategy
Develop new customers by liaising with Area Sales
Site implementation
Growth targets
Product mix
Tender handling support to area CCL head
Expand business footprint while ensuring profitable growth
Customization and localization of the products within the framework
Operational excellence
Manage the operations of the location
HSSE & compliance adherence
Manage subcontractors needs and used at this location for CCL services
Drive compliance & regulatory adherence
Sites operating basis security / IT standards
General management
Lease administration
Contract management
Drive adherence to governance framework
People
Facilitate the execution training linked to products, solutions and clients
All people and safety aspects

Taking care for and sweating the asset
We are looking for:
Extensive operational knowledge of cold chain logistics
At least 5 years’ experience as Site Manager with full responsibility for the Facilities – HR, IR and Safety
Must have proven industry knowledge in Fruit and Veg, Frozen and Protein products
Knowledge of the local SA customs and Labour Law
Strong leadership, people and talent development experience
Financial acumen – ability to read, interpret and act on P&L
Stakeholder management & collaboration in a matrix
Strong dealing with customers
Collaboration and influencing skills
Stakeholder management and customer-centric competencies
Self-directed / entrepreneurial
Team player
