Key Responsibilities:

The Gender Equity Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Officer will be based in Madang Area Programme. The position holder will support GEDSI Project Coordinator to i) ensure technical guidance from the gender and social inclusion perspectives across project key outcomes; ii) planned activities for GEDSI are mainstreamed into project and Madang Area Program particularly in the gender, disability and social inclusion space; and iii) the Madang Cocoa project is adequately supported.

He or she will oversee and ensure gender and social inclusion related issues are adequately addressed in World Vision Madang Area Programme and Cocoa Project. Will be able to coordinate WVPNG GEDSI assessment and ensure GEDSI/Gender activities are intentionally integrated and implemented by other projects as planned in collaboration with GEDSI Coordinator, Project Support Service Manager and Project Coordinator for ANCP Cocoa Project.

Furthermore, the role will also provide direct engagement to communities as part of the Cocoa Project monthly project activity facilitation in collaboration with multi stakeholders to ensure that World Vision establish, strength and and maintains close relationships and engagement with target communities that creates opportunities on achieving child well-being for all.

Roles and responsibilities

Ensure ongoing implementation on Cocoa Project

Ensure planned GEDSI activities with the Cocoa project are executed on a timely manner.
Continue establishing and meeting partners as regularly per planned.
Monthly reporting as scheduled.
Ensure integration and implementation of gender and social inclusion

Support GEDSI Coordinator coordinate implementation of gender technical program and provide technical support in accordance with WV PNG’s gender technical program to Madang Area Program and Cocoa Project
Provide support to development and implementation of planned monthly action plan with gender and social inclusion perspective.
Review and provide guide to Cocoa Project officers on GEDSI related activities with respect support from Gender and Disability Advisors from National and support office.
Representing WV Madang Area Program and Cocoa Project in GEDSI stakeholders meeting and special event (20 days of activism) program at the community, district provincial and national level when required
Collaborate with and support (local resource persons) other women based groups to report and share learnings on main GEDSI indicators at local context for do no harm perspective.
Cooridnate with GEDSI Coordinator to provide support and capacity building to World Vision staff and partners including other stakeholders on key project models such as the channels of hope for gender, celebrating of families, GIFTs, RISE Streams and Financial Literacy.
3. Gender and social inclusion integration in GEDSI Assessment.

In consultation with National Officer and WV Support Office to monitor GEDSI activities, results and impact measurement of programs from a gender and social inclusion perspective.
Close collaboration with Program Quality Cross cutting M&E coordinator and Cocoa Project Team and Project Partners for GEDSI analysis and facilitation using do no harm approaches.
Educational qualification, knowledge skills, and experience

Bachelor in Social Work, Psychology. Community Development or Gender Field/Background
Networking, Facilitating and organisation skills.
Communication and IEC Management Skills
Project facilitation, monitoring and information management skills
Experience social work or GEDSI-related work, GEDSI integration. Networking skills with government bodies and donors, and experience with disability work and sector.
Experience in community life and awareness of local custom tradition and geography of Usino LLG
