How can you make a difference?

Summary of the Key Functions, Accountabilities and Related Duties or Tasks include:

Operational and Project Management of GIGA, U-Report Sierra Leone, RapidPro and other Innovation-focused Infrastructure and Services.
Provide Support and Assistance with Strategic Relationships.
Support the Operational and Administrative Tasks of the Innovation Unit.
Assist in the Delivery of Results for Children in UNICEF Sierra Leone.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

A university degree in Development, Community Development, Communications, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Information Science, Public Health or a related field.
Experience in innovative use of technology for development, particularly in the areas of data access, visualization, mobile applications, and open source.
Previous experience in partnership development, community engagement and youth outreach.
Previous experience in the use and management of RapidPro (or similar) platforms.
Previous experience in partnership development, community engagement and youth outreach.
At least three years' professional experience supporting government and/or non-governmental organisation programming, including training and capacity building or equivalent professional work experience at the national and international levels.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and experience using web-based content management platforms, databases and information portals.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
